SupportCategory: Learnplus - WPImport Content
annedivitto asked 47 years ago

I am doing an upgrade in place of my current website with the new theme.
I take it I should back up my entire site for sure.
After I do this, should I still import demo content? Then is it possible to import my blog posts only?
What is the best practice? I just don’t want to lose my data.
Thank you!

Hi,
Do you want to import demo data from current theme to our theme? Please send us your account admin and website, we will help you check it.
Thanks.

No, I’d prefer not to import any demo data, but the last theme update I did, the theme support recommended it so I would have a template. Do you recommend the same? If I do this, can you help me import my current pages and blog posts, or point me in the right direction?

Hi, I am working again on it this morning. It seems that I should import your demo content as I do have learndash and have chosen this theme because of our learndash purpose.
It looks like I should import demo using learnplus-demo-content.zip.
It says to Note: You need to deactivate WordPress Importer plugin before you activate LearnPlus Demo Content plugin. To have all courses like our demo, you are sure you installed and actived LearnDash plugin..
I have taken a full backup and a content back up of my site. I need to reimport my blog posts at a minimum after this is done. Can I reactive the WordPress importer after I have brought in the demo content to get my blog posts back in??
Please advise ASAP.

I went through the manual import demo content and I now see the pages and posts from the demo content. It looks like I haven’t lost my blog posts either which is good.
I went through Step 5 of setting up the homepage and blog page, and also set the menu location in step 6.
However, when I try to go and look at the website, the home page just hangs and doesn’t load.
Can someone help? I can give you admin details when you contact me. Thank you.

Sorry for all the comments! The blog doesn’t display and the “home” link just hangs up.

annedivitto replied 3 years ago

I can’t get any pages except for “blog-2” to display at all. This is in an incognito window as well.

annedivitto replied 3 years ago

I also turned off all plugs except for the required and recommended with no luck! The Visual Composer has a blank license key. Is this a problem?

annedivitto replied 3 years ago

Agh! I can’t get anything to display except the blog post page. What am I doing wrong 🙁

Hello,
Now, Your issues only are about and homepage. We saw Visual Composer need to update, can we update it soon?
Thanks.

annedivitto replied 3 years ago

I will try to do that today. So this is not part of the theme? The WP Bakery plugin etc is something different?

annedivitto replied 3 years ago

Also, were you able to confirm the demo data for home page, etc were imported? I just need to update visual composer?

annedivitto replied 3 years ago

I cannot seem to update it without a license key. In the documentation it says:
With Visual Composer and Revolution Slider, we purchased them from codecanyone.net and included them in the theme package. We did not include the license key for each of them. If there is any update, we are accountable for updating the theme with the newest version of plugins. In fact, the license key will not help you anything even updating plugins to the newest version. Only direct buyers can do this. Because we provide those with the themes; therefore, we will take care of updating them for our customers. Just take a look at the link by the author of plugins to see more. http://www.themepunch.com/faq/how-to-update-the-slider/ We will keep the plugins up – to – date.

Will you be updating this or am I supposed to track down a license key? Please advise what my next steps should be an I will do it. Thanks!

annedivitto replied 3 years ago

If you are to update it, yes you have permission to do so as soon as possible. Thank you.

I am disappointed that i have not heard from you – it seems we have a 12+ hour time difference in our responses so now I have another day without the home page of my website. I have gone into settings and made “blog posts” the home page temporarily while I wait for you.
Please update visual composer so we can rule out if that is the issue. Per your documentation, I understand the plugin came with the theme and that you would be in charge of updating it; I am confused in the first place why the latest version of Visual Composer was included in the files in the first place:
Licensing Plugins
There are three licensing plugins used in the theme: LearnDash, Visual Composer and Revolution Slider.
With LearnDash plugin, we can not include it in theme. You have to purchase it directly from website http://www.learndash.com/.
Remaining issues are all of the Pages are hanging up – Blog page, Home Page, About page, basically any page.
Also, wondering where I can upload our favicon?
Thank you.

Please advise the status on this. Will you be updating Visual Composer as stated in the documentation?

Hello,
Thank you for getting back to me. I did not realize you would not see comments.
The issue appears to have been fixed with the updated Visual Composer! Thank you. I did not do anything with the visual composer plugin upon installing the theme so I’m not exactly sure where I went wrong.
You may close this issue. I will begin working through the set up and log a new issue if I run into any problems.
Thanks.
